• Acted as final tier of escalation for customer Linux issues, including: iptables firewalls, LVS loadbalancing, hardware issues, performance problems, server compromises, and others.
• Developed a solution for automated scanning of the network for vulnerable ports which might indicate a compromised server.
• Assisted with maintenance of Tivoli backup server and clients.

Achievements:

• Helped existing admin and new junior admin gain a better understanding of the administration of Cisco and Sun hardware via training and documentation.
• Did a root cause analysis of network performance problems, implemented some temporary solutions, and made recommendation of a hardware upgrade for a permanent solution.

• Became webmaster for a small design/print company, and helped them bring their business to the web, by advising them on web technologies, administering their linux webserver, developing CGI scripts for their customers, and optimizing their HTML and graphics for best downloads.
• Managed the LAN and internet access for a small company, with a mixed Macintosh, Windows, and Linux environment.
• Implemented a Linux email server for a customer, including IMAP, SMTP, and webmail access.
